Discover Unforgettable Journeys By Land, Rail, And Sea.
Eloy to Seattle by Motor Coach 3 Days 2 Nights
Tours by André invites you to experience The Scenic Road to Alaska, a carefully planned journey from Arizona to Seattle that turns the trip to your cruise into an unforgettable part of the vacation itself. Instead of dealing with crowded airports, security lines, baggage restrictions, and the stress of flying, you can simply settle into a comfortable motor coach, relax, enjoy the scenery, and let us take care of the details.
Over three enjoyable days, we will travel through some of the most beautiful and historic landscapes of the American West. Along the way, we will enjoy memorable stops such as Hoover Dam, the spectacular Snake River Canyon and Shoshone Falls, Oregon Trail country, Pendleton, and Snoqualmie Falls, with comfortable hotel stays in Ely and Boise before arriving in Seattle. This is not a race to the cruise ship. It is designed as a true touring experience, with reasonable travel days, regular comfort stops, enjoyable meals, sightseeing, and plenty of time to relax and get to know your fellow travelers. After a restful night in Seattle and a taste of this beautiful Pacific Northwest city, another adventure begins as we board Holland America Line for a seven-night Alaska cruise. Glaciers, mountains, wildlife, charming coastal towns, and the breathtaking beauty of Alaska await us.
What makes this tour special is the way the entire journey comes together:
- The deserts and canyons of the Southwest.
- The history and scenery of the American West.
- The mountains and waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest.
- And finally, the magnificent wilderness of Alaska.
With Tours by André, getting there is not simply transportation. Getting there is part of the adventure. So pack your bags, leave the airport hassle behind, and come travel with us as we discover unforgettable journeys by land and sea — one wonderful memory at a time.
The Scenic Road to Seattle!
Three days through Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and the Pacific Northwest — with sightseeing, comfortable hotels, luggage handled for you, and no airports. Then Seattle becomes the destination, but the tour begins the moment they board the coach in Arizona.
Day 1 — Phoenix → Ely
- Hoover Dam, Nevada — major sightseeing stop
This would be my headline attraction for the first day. It gives the group American history, engineering, and spectacular scenery. Hoover Dam
I would allow 60–90 minutes, perhaps longer if we arrange a group visitor-center experience. Coach loading/unloading needs to use the designated areas rather than stopping on the dam itself. - Boulder City — lunch/rest stop
A pleasant alternative to Las Vegas for your group: quieter, easier, and it keeps the day moving toward Ely. - Ely — overnight
If timing permits, I especially like Nevada Northern Railway Museum. It is a working historic railroad complex, so it also gives the trip a nice little preview of the rail part of your land-rail-sea theme.
Day 2 — Ely → Twin Falls → Boise
- Perrine Memorial Bridge & Snake River Canyon — must-stop
Perrine Memorial Bridge is almost ideal for an older motorcoach group: tremendous scenery without requiring a strenuous walk, and there is a visitor center/restroom area right by the canyon. Southern Idaho tourism specifically describes it as an easy stop close to the interstate. - Shoshone Falls — major sightseeing stop
Shoshone Falls Park would be one of my signature attractions of the entire road journey. There are accessible viewpoints, and the waterfall/canyon scenery is wonderful. Flow varies seasonally, so for a June trip it should be much more interesting than late summer. - Boise — overnight and relaxed evening
Rather than adding another major excursion, I would give the passengers some breathing room. A short downtown or riverfront orientation could include the Boise River Greenbelt. If we ever expand this to four land days, Old Idaho Penitentiary Site would make an excellent historical visit.
Day 3 — Boise → Seattle
This is where I would make the drive itself particularly interesting.
- Baker City, Oregon — Oregon Trail stop
I really like National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center for your group. Passengers can learn about the pioneers and actually see historic wagon-rut landscape. This gives the trip a wonderful American West storyline rather than simply another restroom stop. - Pendleton, Oregon — lunch and Western heritage
Pendleton is almost made for a motorcoach stop. One possibility is Pendleton, the Pendleton Woolen Mill Store, for browsing and shopping. For a longer stop, Pendleton Underground Tours has fascinating Old West history, although I would check mobility requirements carefully before putting a group of older passengers underground. - Yakima Valley — afternoon comfort stop
I wouldn’t necessarily schedule a full museum visit on our first itinerary, but Yakima makes a logical break before crossing the Cascades. If we wanted a cultural stop, Yakima Valley Museum & Historical Association covers the valley’s Native, agricultural and regional history. - Snoqualmie Falls — the grand finale before Seattle ⭐
Partner, I would definitely include this one if daylight and timing allow. Snoqualmie Falls is about 30 miles east of Seattle. The upper viewpoint is very close to parking and wheelchair accessible, and importantly for us, the main park has tour-bus parking.“Next stop: Seattle. Tomorrow, Alaska.”
- Seattle — pre-cruise evening
- Next morning: Pike Place + Seattle highlights
Before embarkation, depending on Holland America’s boarding time, we can include Pike Place Market and a drive/photo stop around Space Needle, then take everyone directly to the ship.
The stops!
Hoover Dam → Ely overnight → Perrine Bridge → Shoshone Falls → Boise overnight → Oregon Trail Interpretive Center → Pendleton lunch → Snoqualmie Falls → Seattle overnight → Pike Place/Seattle sightseeing → Holland America.
That gives us history, scenery, the Old West, mountains and waterfalls without making every day feel like a race.
Arizona desert → Hoover Dam → Nevada frontier → Snake River Canyon → Oregon Trail → Pacific Northwest → Cascade Mountains → Seattle → Alaska.
That could make the motorcoach portion every bit as marketable as the cruise.
